2011 GFKC Awards Evening a Night to Remember!

Saturday 10th December was the 2011 awards presentation evening and christmas party for the academy and what a night it was! Over 250 students, family members and friends came to support the evening and to celebrate the end of the year which has been yet again another amazing 12 months for the GFKC! The whole night was a roaring success with the grading presentation on the same night also along with over 90 awards to hand out to certain students for their efforts! Below is a list of events and achievements that everyone at the GFKC has proudly supported throughout 2011:

• 105 ADULT STUDENTS! 115 JUNIORS = 220 ACTIVE STUDENTS NO ADVERTISING THROUGH GREAT WORD OF MOUTH YET AGAIN!
• NEW JUNIOR CLASS CATEGORIES TO HELP DELIVER IMPROVED INSTRUCTION
• BOXFIT TAKEOVER TO GFKC
• SATELLITE SCHOOLS DEVELOPING VERY NICELY
• OVER 15 TOURNAMENTS WITH OVER 130 WINS!
• CHARITY EVENTS: SUPER TRIATHLON / MOUNT EVEREST CLIMB / LONDON MARATHON / RACE NIGHT VARIOUS NAME CARDS - TOTAL RAISED FOR 2011 = £6,150
• A VERY SUCCESSFUL BOOT CAMP WITH HEALTHY EATING ETC
• BILL “SUPERFOOT” WALLACE SEMINAR
• 4 VERY TOUGH GRADINGS WITH OVER 50 NEW STUDENTS ON THE LADDER
• 2 MORE 1^ST DAN BLACK BELTS LIZZIE AND GARY!

Wow what a year, along with hundreds of hard training hours every week it was certainly a year to remember! Well done to everyone who won an award and to all you students who passed their latest grading exam and took their martial arts career to the next level! A big thank you to Steve Graham who volunteered his dj skills on the night to provide us all with some great music which had everyone up and dancing! So that’s it for 2011 and there’s been some fantastic events and stories to tell….who knows what 2012 will hold for the GFKC???
